Hi! I’m Sarah. Wife, Mother, and lover of stories. Storytelling with photos is my comfort zone so sometimes words fail me but here are some things about me!

I believe fresh mountain air is one of the best things on the planet. If we could somehow bottle the air of a crisp, fall snow in the Colorado Rockies, it could be used to solve 99.9% of the world’s problems.

I will almost definitely squeal, giggle or dance for joy when I look at photos on the back of my camera. Beautiful light and authentic moments are better than chocolate.

I over share (can’t you tell?) and love to hear all about you too. I love ending a session as old friends.

I love Christmas. Not like most people love Christmas but like I-start-obsessing-about-it-in-August, sometimes-July, and-have-a-new-theme-and-color-scheme-every-year-much-to-my-husbands-dismay kind of love!

The exclamation point has basically replaced the period for me. Not sure if that means that I have a real zest for life or that I’m always shouting but I’m sure its one of those!

I’m directly responsible for at least 8 people reading Harry Potter and indirectly for about 50 more, all before it was cool! In fact, I might have been the one to make it cool. Yeah, thats it, that was me!

Same goes for Game of Thrones. Hmm, noticing a trend. That’s right folks, you heard it here first, I’m a trend setter. Or major nerd. You decide! (But don’t blame me for Twilight. I was super late to that party!)

I’m way cooler in my head than I am in person. It takes too much energy to be as cool as I am mentally. I’m exhausted just thinking about it.

I think I came up with random words like “Amazeballs” and “Fantabulous” until I hear everyone saying them and then I realize I must not have. Though I’m not entirely convinced that people aren’t’ spying on me to discover the next big hit in made up vocabulary, because, well, you know…TRENDSETTER!

In a nutshell, I’m chatty, snarky, sarcastic, and rarely take things seriously. One thing I do take seriously is how fleeting life is and I know with every fiber how insanely important it is to preserve the little things. How connected you felt to the little person growing in your belly, even though you hadn’t even seen their face. The flaky newborn skin. The way your toddler holds the tiny hairs at the back of your neck. The way your 5 year old can’t help but splash every puddle they meet. How no matter how old they are, your kids still come to you for comfort when they’re hurt.

My Story and my Song, my 2 little girls, are the greatest things I will ever accomplish and my mommy heart swells with pride on a daily basis as I watch every little thing they accomplish but there is an ever present ache as it all passes by. Looking back through the photos I’ve captured eases the ache, if only momentarily. I strive to provide that same relief to each family that steps in front of my camera. It doesn’t stop the days from slipping through your fingers like sand through a sieve but you will be able to look back and step into that moment again, for just a little while.

I’m a maternity, newborn and family photographer based in Denver, Boulder and surrounding areas. I also love to travel so if family photos on the beach or in the mountains are on your bucket list, count me in! Lets talk about what will make your photos the perfect lasting memory. Email StoryandSongPhoto@gmail.com if you want more information or if you’d like to meet in person to chat about your session!
